We combine one of our seasoned, fully nickeled and engraved ferrule and sole, Rosewood Practice Chanters with: R. T. Shepherd's classic and comprehensive Bagipe Instruction Book and CD; the Bagpipe Teacher DVD; Note that the ferrule is not made of easily bendable aluminum nor is it plastic.

This bagpipe is named is in honor of the Great Irish King, BRIAN (aka Brien) BORU, who passed away, as a result of murderous treachery, in 1014. This great bagpipe is related to the Great Highland Bagpipe and is played in B flat. Of particular note is that our new, basic Chanter has FIVE (5) keys, extends the upper and lower ranges of the scale. It can be played with the same fingering as the Highland pipe chanter, though the fingering does vary slightly.
There are three drones comprised of a bass, baritone and tenor, all set within a single stock, which can either be played over the shoulder or across the knee. You can also upgrade to a Ten (10) key chanter. With the Ten (10) key chanter the range of the chanter is extended the full 3 notes up and one down, and adds chromatic notes.
You get to custom build your own set...choose your engraving pattern and bag color, even opt for the natural finished cocus wood set too. We include 2 chanter reeds, One SET OF EZEEDRONE SYNTHETIC DRONE REEDS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR THE BORU PIPES, ONE full set of Spanish cane drone reeds and a Gortex bag is included. We include our HardBody, WorldTour Travel case too. This is not an absolute beginners bagpipe. This is a Warpipe! . THESE ARE NOT FOR THE NOVICE. The keyed chanter takes a little learning. The Baritone Bass Drone will blow the other pipers out of the water with the depth of the bass!

3 DRONE SHUTTLE PIPES HAND MADE BY JOHN WALSH...FREE JOHN WALSH T-SHIRT TOO! The John Walsh Shuttle Pipes are similar in style and shape to the Shuttle Pipe which dates as far back as 1695. The original Shuttle Pipe was bellows blown and had three open ended drones which were carried in one main stock with a plain open ended chanter made of ivory. The chanter was closed at some time during the eighteenth century and later keys were added to increase its note capacity. Mounting the drones in a single stock was typical of the Old Irish or German Pipes. The John Walsh Shuttle Pipes are hand crafted in Nova Scotia from quality materials to produce a uniquely sweet sound that is ideal for intimate performances where the Highland pipes would prove too overpowering.
The Shuttle Pipes are very affordable, require minimal upkeep and are generally “fun to play”. They are very melodious and certainly an ideal instrument for practicing, as well as performing, by all levels of Highland Bagpipe players. The Shuttle Pipe is crafted from rock maple, is mouthblown and uses practice chanter reeds. The Shuttle Pipes are in the Key of "A" and are mouth blown with the fingering being the same as the Great Highland Bagpipe. The wood used is rock maple wood , the pipe bag is made of synthetic material and the reeds are plastic. The drone which sits across your waist is cylindrical in shape and is comprised of a bass drone and tenor drone ( 2-Drone Version ). The 3-Drone version has the addition of a baritone drone. The drones are tuned by moving the sliders back and forward down the shuttle section and can be turned off or on at anytime. This THREE DRONE SHUTTLE has one bass and two tenor drones. Choose from a light finish to the wood or a dark finish. We include a synthetic pipe bag and your choice of bag color: NAVY, BLACK, HUNTER GREEN, RED OR BURGANDY.
