An Economical Electronic Practice Chanter..........The Micro-Pipes are an affordable practice chanter that electronically reproduces the sound of the Standard Great highland Bagpipe chanter scale in the key of b flat without drone accompaniment. The notes are played in a very realistic manner by covering electronic touch sensors, positioned to exactly match the finger spacing of a regular pipe chanter. You can increase or lower the volume of the unit to suit your requirements. This unit takes 2 AAA batteries. There is no external sound box on this unit so head phones which come with the unity are used to hear the sound. This bagpipe is named is in honor of the Great Irish King, BRIAN (aka Brien) BORU, who passed away, as a result of murderous treachery, in 1014. This great bagpipe is related to the Great Highland Bagpipe and is played in B flat. Of particular note is that our new, basic Chanter has FIVE (5) keys, extends the upper and lower ranges of the scale. It can be played with the same fingering as the Highland pipe chanter, though the fingering does vary slightly.
There are three drones comprised of a bass, baritone and tenor, all set within a single stock, which can either be played over the shoulder or across the knee. You can also upgrade to a Ten (10) key chanter. With the Ten (10) key chanter the range of the chanter is extended the full 3 notes up and one down, and adds chromatic notes.
You get to custom build your own set...choose your engraving pattern and bag color, even opt for the natural finished cocus wood set too. We include 2 chanter reeds, One SET OF EZEEDRONE SYNTHETIC DRONE REEDS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR THE BORU PIPES, ONE full set of Spanish cane drone reeds and a Gortex bag is included. We include our HardBody, WorldTour Travel case too. This is not an absolute beginners bagpipe. This is a Warpipe! . THESE ARE NOT FOR THE NOVICE. The keyed chanter takes a little learning. The BRIAN BORU will blow away any Great Highland Bagpipe. This is a hard to find instrument, but has recently been enjoying quite a revival of popularity, though it has been fairly popular in Ireland since its original introduction. You can pay $950.00 for a Non-Blackwood Brian Boru elsewhere, but HERE, we are musicians and we keep our profit margins close to the chest!
